Kitty Boots - Costume Designer

Kitty Boots was born in England, where she received a degree in theatrical design from Birmingham Polytechnic. Her early career was spent working for BOY, London during its rise from Punk street wear to global sportswear. Kitty also set up her own design business selling in three retail outlets in London, including Hyper Hyper, and outfitting such celebrities as Alice Cooper, Adam Ant, and more. In 1990, Kitty had a series of runway shows in New York, receiving rave reviews from "Woman's Wear Daily" and worldwide press. In 1996, Kitty showed in Europe at the International Modernage Wien in Vienna. During the next two years, she designed costumes for the May Music Festival in Italy (for the Opera Ballet of Florence performances of "Acrobats of God") and tour costumes for Debbie Harry. She was the resident costume designer for the legendary nightclub and performance space, Jackie 60. During 1999 and 2000, Kitty began designing for the film industry. Recent projects include "Skintight," directed by Johnny Tingle; "Gypsy 83," a new film directed by Todd Stevens featuring the legendary Karen Black, John Doe, and Sara Rue); and "Pagans" by Jamie Yerkes. Upcoming projects include "Falling off the Verge," to be directed by John Ullman and produced by Urbanmind Pictures. Whilst still running and designing her fashion label "Kitty Boots," she is also collaborating with Rob Roth in the multimedia Click and Drag production company and on monthly events.
