"I'm ready to buy DVDs"

The screening of Robot Stories in Berkeley tonight left me very excited for the director, native Berkeleyan Eisa Davis, and Tamlyn Tomita (who were present) as well as the rest of the great artists involved in the film. I congratulated them simply by saying that I had never seen anything quite like it.

Nuanced emotion, humor, and comedy underpinned by profound philosophical questions rounded out this important film.

I'm ready to buy DVDs as a gifts to people who I know will appreciate them. But I also intend to send as many people as I can to the showings at Act 1&2 near the downtown Berkeley BART station and help spread word of mouth to friends about the film. This work, one of rare substance, quality, and meaning, deserves our support and recomendations and will no doubt gain rapid accolades. The film is a unique, memorable triumph.

I hope that some Q&A excerpts or an interview with some of the personal, emotional, and intellectual content of the screening could eventually make it onto a DVD, as making contact with the cast really added nicely to the film's impact. Also, key concepts and ideas or intentions of the director were very interesting to hear.
